Everything was included in the shipment needed to get started taking pictures. My brother who has one like it gave me 5 rules of proper care for my camera LOL. It's a great price for the quality and quanity of this camera and its accessories.
Cameta Camera does the best job in making sure everything is received on time and if there is a problem, they take care of it right away. I paid $539 for this camera kit and the lowest I've seen after making that purchase is the $479 price.
There are many things that this camera can do that is hard to understand right away. This is a great camera for those who are just starting out and looking to get into photography.
I received an additional lens as a gift and it was the next best purchase. By learning the basics of the camera and just playing around with different settings, you can come out with some great photos.

First of all the XS is a fantastic camera. Very user friendly, and will be especially good for amateur photogs.Second of all, they package it all in one box, and the cool thing is the Canon XS comes in its original box.I found most of the extra stuff the outfit gave very useful.CHEAPEST DEAL ON THE WEB.8gig memory card is plenty of room.The bag is a little too big though to carry around (although there is room for lenses)I just bought a holster bag for my camera so it's easier to carry around.Memory card reader is being used constantly.Extra battery is handy, very useful as well.
This camera takes awesome pictures. It is my first DSLR, and so I have nothing else to compare it to, but I find it very easy to use. You can pretty much use it without learning all the features, but it has tons of features that can be adjusted for all kinds of effects.
I'm not a serious photographer, but this camera has plently of advanced features if you are, and is easy to use if you aren't. I sold my manual SLR about 10 years ago, bought a cheap digital point and shoot, then waited for the price of digital SLRs to stabilize and the technology to mature. That has happened over the past few years and I'm very pleased that this is the camera I chose to get back into the SLR game. Further, the convenience and value of this package makes it hard to beat. Gadget bag is a little cheap, but I bought a gadget backpack at the same time (I recommend one of those).
